As a Seattle auto accident attorney, I am dedicated to the awareness of negligent driving. Driving should be handled with the utmost responsibility and care due to all the neighboring lives at stake. According to The Seattle Police Department Blotter, on the night of November 6th, a car was traveling east on Lakeside Ave. when the driver apparently missed a turn and drove straight into the yard of two residences. Witnesses say the vehicle was traveling at a high speed and appeared to not realize the street ended with a barricaded intersection. The car went straight through the intersection and barreled down a steep hill before landing on its side through a fence between two houses. A tree was knocked over in the process and the fence was completely destroyed. The driver of the vehicle vacated the car and fled the scene before officials could arrive. Police are still investigating into the incident and suspect.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention claims that vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death for people ages 5–34 within the United States. This statistic would include the injuries caused by vehicle accidents on and off the road. In this case the car landed between two houses but if the car had gone through one of the houses instead, the situation could have been far more serious.
