As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, I am aware of the various damages that one may sustain as a result of a dangerous vehicle accident. Medical bills, insurance companies, and even emotional stress can all take a toll in the aftermath of a negligent vehicle collision. According to the King 5 News, six people were injured when a car collided into an emergency aid vehicle early Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 1a.m. off of Fourth Ave. and Cherry Street. The cause of the accident is thought to have been due to reckless driving. A silver Infinity, carrying four passengers, was speeding and ran a red light just before striking the aid vehicle. Two Seattle firefighters were injured in the collision and taken to a nearby hospital were they were later released. All four passengers of the Infinity were also taken to nearby hospitals, one in critical condition. The police are still investigating whether alcohol or drugs are a factor in the incident.

Speeding through red lights, especially on busy downtown streets, is extremely dangerous and reckless. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that in 2010, speeding contributed to around 175 traffic fatalities in the state of Washington alone. No one was fatally injured in this accident but due to the high risk associated with speeding, it is an unnecessary risk for anyone to take.
