Early in the morning on August 19, a bicyclist was involved in one of these Seattle bicycle accidents at an intersection near 145th street and 1st Ave NE in Seattle. Around 6 a.m. a pickup truck hit a bicyclist who failed to stop at a red light. The cyclist was sent to Harborview Medical Center with injuries to his head and face as well as a broken leg. State Patrol has said the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.

I hope the cyclist involved in this Seattle bicycle accident has a quick recovery. Bicycle accidents such as these are easy to prevent by taking some simple precautions. Though bicycles are self-propelled they still are required to follow all traffic laws and obey all traffic signals in the same way a motor vehicle should. When riding a bicycle, however, you should exhibit extreme caution as you are open to the elements and can easily suffer serious injury or death in the event of an accident.
