Pedestrian Injured in a Hit-and-Run Accident| Washington Personal Injury Lawyer
I have seen auto accidents cause serious personal injuries, which can forever alter a victim’s life. Unfortunately, it only takes seconds of bad judgment to cause one of these Washington car accidents.
Just last week, a 24-year-old Everett man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Mill Creek. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Friday in the 1300 block of 136th Street.
Two people were standing on the corner of a sidewalk when a white pickup truck drove over the curb and hit the young man. The driver immediately fled the scene.
Soon after, the 24-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Mill Creek officers are now searching for the vehicle, which witnesses described as a Chevrolet S-10 pickup. They believe the passenger side windshield and corner are damaged.
Many pedestrians are injured in traffic accidents each year. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 60,000 pedestrians are injured in car accidents each year. We can all help lower these numbers by always watching out for both pedestrians and cyclists.
