Seattle auto accidents happen faster than most people are aware of. Being a Bellevue personal injury attorney, I’ve found that most of these auto accidents result from only a few moments of distracted driving. In fact, 80% of the millions of accidents around the world happen as a direct result of some sort of distracted driving. Anyone failing to observe their surroundings for only a few moments at a time while behind the wheel may be confronted with serious consequences.

The consequences of the 5 car auto accident sparked by a Sea Tac shuttle on Wednesday, November 10th, were 5 damaged cars and a truck flipped upside down. It was late in the afternoon when a Whidbey Sea-Tac shuttle bus driver was cruising along the freeway. As rush hour traffic was beginning to thicken, the cars ahead began to slow, but unfortunately, the bus driver did not see the brake lights ahead in time to stop. As a result, the bus collided into the back of the vehicle ahead of him sparking a chain reaction involving 5 other cars. Surprisingly, only 4 people were injured, in this dominos-like accident, and 2 of them were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Distracted driving is a common reason for these types of accidents. It is important as driver to be aware of our surroundings while behind the wheel. Our article about Accident Prevention Tips contains valuable lessons and statistics that are useful in keeping you out of harm’s way while driving.
