DUI Accident Injures 8 People | Seattle Car Crash Lawyer
Drinking alcohol is something mankind has been doing for centuries. It is a behavior that remains relatively unchanged since the time of our ancestors. Automobiles, on the other hand, arose far more recently in 1672. As a Seattle auto collision attorney, I can say that the two definitely do not belong together. One makes you relaxed; the other demands that you pay attention. They are a contradiction and one that recklessly endangers others and oneself. Like all contradictions, drunk driving is not worth the effort of getting into a car at all.
At 11 p.m. last night, a Chevy G2 van was heading westbound on Crawford road. The driver of the van, who was accompanied by one other passenger, was impaired when he or she failed to stop at a sign on Highway 395 and struck another van, a Chevy Ventura, which was heading south. The victim’s van was carrying two adults and four kids. Washington State Trooper Robert Bohling says the children’s injuries were not life-threatening, but all eight of the people involved in this accident were sent to the hospital. Both cars were totaled and the driver of the first van is facing charges of vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
As a Bellevue personal injury lawyer I think that the fact that eight people needed to be hospitalized for one person’s foolish mistake deserves absolute condemnation and serves as a reminder that one bad decision can lead to serious consequences. DUI accidents are common, showing that society has a lot to learn about what is possible and what isn’t when it comes to driving. We need to learn when to drive and when to drink and remember that they never overlap.
